Sir Knights in the Classroom!

Screenshot

Recently two of our own Sir Knights, Faithful Comptroller Stephen Pitz and Faithful Scribe Don Brown, gave a presentation on the Knights to Mrs. Mallory’s 8th Grade Social Studies class at St Catherine of Siena Catholic School.  They explained the history of when, where and why the Knights of Columbus were formed as well as what their mission is today.  They were also able to weave in history of Catholic men’s contributions to the formation of the United States and how the Knights of Columbus played a pivotal role in President Eisenhower adding the words “Under God” to our Pledge of Allegiance on June 14, 1954.

Thank you to our Brother Sir Knights for exemplifying the main principle of the Fourth Degree… PATRIOTISM!

Fr Tighe’s farewell mass

Worthy Sir Knights,

As everyone has heard by now, our Faithful Friar and friend, Father Tighe, has been asked to take over the office of Director of Vocations for the diocese and will be leaving us as our Pastor on June 23rd. There will be a bi-lingual celebration of the Mass on Wednesday June 22nd followed by a reception in the school building. I have asked Father if he would like, and he has accepted, an honor guard at Mass with him. I think it is only fitting we show our admiration and respect to Father in this fashion as he has done so much to support us over his years here.

Please let me know if you can attend in Regalia. If no regalia, wear your tux as a sign of your solidarity and support. Mass is at 6 pm from what I have heard so far. If that time moves, I’ll let you know. I’d love to see a very strong showing, so please prayerfully consider participating.

Thank you and God Bless.
Vivat Jesus!
